Select Brands, LLC began operations in June 2004 as a ONE STOP shop contract packer of Ready to Eat retorted food products primarily in plastic, flexible stand up pouches. Our initial concentration was centered on innovative products which were not being packaged in pouches at the time. In that process, we have developed, and continue to develop, new and innovative production processes transforming a variety of unique raw ingredients through the production and packaging process all the way to grocery shelves.

Food Service
Food service has continued to be one of the fastest growing areas of flexible retorted packaging. Any skill level can open and heat food service pouches without the hazard of cuts received from opening steel cans. Chefs can open a pouched product, add their own signature sauce or broth and create quality dishes with more variety in less time. Food service institutions such as schools can offer tasty nutritious meals at money saving costs. Pouches can also be stored on shelves at room temperatures greatly reducing their storage costs. With a dedicated foodservice production line, Select brands is capable of producing ready to eat products like rice, beans, oatmeal and soup in a pouch that can hold around 2 lbs.
Contract Manufacturing

Whether you are considering converting an existing refrigerated or frozen product offering to one that is shelf stable or creating new innovative products, Select Brands is your best packaging partner alternative. Many parts of the world are already packaging dry and retorted products such as soups, sauces, rice entrees and beverages in flexible pouches. In the U.S., consumer acceptance of flexible packaging has been slower, because many of the existing shelf stable products are still being packaged in facilities containing old equipment, designed specifically for cans. As the old equipment breaks down, it will be replaced by new packaging and retorting equipment designed for flexible packaging.
